Thank you for your very well explained and well shot tutorial. Your voice was very low on the tutorial when i watched on my phone on UA-cam though. I would suggest finding a way to amplify your audio for the tutorial or even better to record the tutorial audio post video with a better mic. Really informative video. It has helped save me a lot of expensive garage labour bills for something that i can clearly do myself with a bit of your very helpful guidance 👍 Keep up the great work 👏

I got a co - worker here with the same issue. Tried a Junkyard unit and it did the same thing. I found that someone said to take the radio apart. Two black torx screws loosen them don't remove. Then remove 4 silver torx screws. Pop cover off. I disconnected the ribbon wire for cd player mech and I flexed the board slightly and repasted the two IC chips with thermal paste and both radio's worked.

After fitting, you require a long flexible screwdriver to access the bottom left airbox screw.

Is thus a repair cable as I've bought the original and it has crimped ends on both sides, so not possible to feed through

Hi ich habe die Anleitung mal auf deutsch übersetzt: Mutter des oberen Motorhauben Scharniers entfernen. Halterung und neue Mutter montieren. Scheinwerferschraube entfernen. Klammer unter dem Scheinwerfer entfernen. Bringen Sie die Halterung unter dem Kotflügel an und richten Sie die Löcher aus. Während Sie die Mutter unter das Loch in der Halterung halten, schrauben Sie die Stangen in die Mutter. Setzen Sie das Kunststoffende auf die Unterseite der Stange und ziehen Sie es ganz nach unten zum Chassis und ziehen Sie die Mutter gegen die Halterung fest. Bringen Sie eine große Unterlegscheibe und eine Mutter an, um alles fest zu schrauben. Bringen Sie die Mutterabdeckung aus Kunststoff an, sobald sie festgezogen ist. Kugelgelenke mit mitgeliefertem Fett schmieren. Entfernen Sie die Drahtklammern vom Ende der Gasdruckfedern. Die Streben mit dem dickeren Ende an der Motorhaube montieren. Die Clips wieder anbringen. Replaced my "radio" fuse earlier and didn't fix this so when I have time let's hope this fuse will fix it, I'm not gonna do a whole radio interface swap but this is manageable enough

I have the same problem, but with a focus 2012, how can I solve it?

I do have Astra J facelift model but that plastic part 1:37 is not lower as you said..so I actually needed to fit..in my case metal spacer,not plastic.Maybe it's slighty different gas strut/spring model or it's because I have Sport tourer version,Opel,not Vauxhall?Also first one,top washer and nut are one part so you can't take just washer off and replace it with new one.And nut on lower side is 12mm socket,not 10.

Why two struts? One seems to hold the bonnet up just fine in the video, as did the single strut fitted as standard on the Astra H. I've tested the force need to hold the bonnet open at the same point you use and it's only around 170 Newtons, what are your struts rated at?

The problem with that is when you want to work on your car on the side it would be very difficult I understand it's a good idea
